The Temporal Rift (Or Glyph) Trap
General DescriptionThe Glyph (or Temporal Rift) Trap belongs in a special category. This type of trap seems to hold unknown powers over location. Perhaps it all ends up as an illusion, perhaps it actually takes one to the Temporal Rift. Those that actually come back after disappearing tell tales of temporal rift monsters, hours upon hours of entrapment and many other horrors. This particular trap ends up as a rogue's worst friend. If you ever get sucked into the temporal rift, run as fast as you can in different patterns. You may find an exit, or you may not. Physical ViewingYou carefully begin to examine a scratched monir coffer for traps... You notice some spiderweb-like scratches on the lock plate which seem, after some bit of scrutiny, too organized to be just wear and tear -- it might be some type of glyph spell. It looks like an easy trap (about -60). You still have a good enough picture of the trap in your mind, that you could try to disarm it. Roundtime: 14 sec. Disarming The Glyph TrapThis possibly represents the hardest trap to disarm. Perhaps only the most skilled rogue disables these traps. Perhaps I remember only what the rift wants me to recall. Magical ViewingThis particular trap sends the caster to the Temporal Rift. It has a magical resistance and temper that most can not defeat. Magical Disarm SuccessThis trap can not get magically disarmed. Triggering The Glyph Trap...You gesture at a scratched monir coffer. [Temporal Rift] Even after this trap is manually disarmed, it can not be popped. The runes inscribed in it are magical in nature and the magics are far greater than the magics known by anyone. Who knows such magics and who put the magics on 'em? Maybe rogues inscribe and make these boxes... maybe sorcerers... Do the rift sharks actually exist? Perhaps. Some strange powers dispell magics and drain spirit while you're in the Temporal Rift. Something eats up all your spirit as long as you're there. If you stay to long, you will surely die.
