A dark granite floor spreads across this room into surrounding walls of large granite. A silver-veined granite fireplace, an explorer's map of Pinefar hanging above it, stands guard over the cold black granite slab and polished black granite table that rest upon a large polar bear hide rug covering the floor. Obvious exits: none

You see Kendryth Tulurin the Human Paladin.

He appears to be in his 100's, has deep black silver-streaked hair, dark steel-grey eyes, and tanned skin. He is in good shape.

He is wearing a suit of golden golvern plate traced with dark rolaren filigree, a pair of dark leather boots reinforced with plates of rolaren, a billowing white cape heavily worked with patterns of golden knotwork, a massive white-gold sheath, a dark golden golvern shield inlaid with a lustrous white-gold crown, and a small golden crown pendant.

Kendryth says, "I have news from my Lord Prophet... it is grave, but it is nothing I did not expect considering who we deal with."

Cryheart says, "I would suggest we give our attention to Kendryth..who has graciously came to speak"

Kendryth says, "There will be conflict. Great conflict. I take this to mean a battle considering what I have heard has happened over the past few days."

Kendryth says, "My Lord Prophet seeks to cut off this conflict by removing the taint from the Sword. He currently deliberates with the clergy of the temple in the best fashion he may do this. I pray that he is successful, and that there is no need for any battle."

Kendryth says, "However..."

Kendryth says, "I have seen many battles, as I sure you all have. To be unprepared means death, and death, in this case, gives our enemy even more drive to cause destruction."

Kendryth says, "I will speak on what I have seen of these dark forces. Information and strategy is key to winning."

Kendryth says, "From what the citizens of your town have told me, there have been storms. Great storms, and souls being seen ascending toward dark clouds. I have encountered this before once."

Kendryth says, "It is the enemy's way of swelling their ranks. They need only find a land that is cursed with the foul presence of undeath, and they might draw those poor souls out for their own twisted uses."

Kendryth says, "I have no doubt that they have their share of living members, as well. I do not speak of citizens who wear the symbols of the dark and proclaim doom upon your town... their only weapon is lies, and need not be met with a blade. We can fend off their attacks easily, but we must be wary, lies can spread like a disease."

Kendryth says, "If this Morvule calls down his armies, then we have much preparation to do. I have seen some of their twisted creations, winged beasts that can fly over the tallest gates and defenses."

Kendryth says, "This is only one of their horrors. I have not had much time to scout the land as the protection of my Lord Prophet has been my utmost concern, so I know not where key points we must defend are."

Cryheart says, "then we need to focus our first line of defense around perimeters of Landing..and access to TEmple it seems"

Cryheart asks, "and...what would be their second aim...if any?"

Kendryth says, "What any of the dark would want, needless slaughter and bloodshed of any they might find."

Kendryth says, "I would expect any of their living troops to come from the south. Their dead..."

Kendryth says, "Their dead can be almost anywhere."

Truekillr says, "Paladin Kendryth, the Snake's servant Morvule said something cryptic the other day while we were battling back his rising souls..."

Truekillr asks, "He mentioned that we were actually helping him by doing so. Is this true to your knowledge? If so, what should we do as It culls It's souls?"

Kendryth shakes his head

Kendryth says, "Never believe that scaly bastard. Anything, anything he says is dripping with an ulterior motive. He will try and get you to do things through taunts and lies."

Truekillr says, "Superb, tis what Kadesha and I preached to those that would listen. I thank you for the confirmation."

Grandevr asks, "First, I assume, Sir Kendyrth, that maintainance of the Wards outside the Temple around the Griffin Sword is a necessity to help hold them off?"

Kendryth says, "It will hold off the dead, and to some extent... those alive with darkness in their hearts."

Aeryi furrows her brow.

Grandevr asks, "Second, what activities or roles, do you have in mind for the Militia to partake in? General Defensive operations?"

Kendryth nods to Grandevr.

Kendryth says, "If they should come, they will come in droves. We must be organized, or be overwhelmed."

Kendryth says, "If you saw those clouds, every soul that did rise... every scream you heard..."

Kendryth says, "Will be one horrible thing you must face on the battlefield, should they come."

Guarrin says, "Firs', was wonderin iffin ye had any knowledge o' em possibly usin beacon stones as they did durin de las' war ova de sword"

Kendryth says, "They may, but as it stands now, they use very intelligent undead. It may not be required to use such a method if they know their aims, and if the living oversee them."

Kendryth says, "I would not put it past them, so keep your eyes open."

Guarrin asks, "An' secondly, while dis threatens obviously mer than jes' de landin, be der anyplace tha be safe that we may direct de populace tha is nae able ta fight ta a safer area?"

Kendryth says, "That I cannot know. If they are successful and take the sword once again..."

Kendryth takes on a rather grim expression for a moment.

Morgiest says, "Sir Cryheart of the Silver Gryphons has one question."

Cryheart turns to face Kendryth.

Kendryth says, "Nowhere will be safe."

Cryheart says, "thanks Morgiest"

Cryheart asks, "are they trying to destroy the Lady's Temple..or do they have a more grand scheme to follow?"

Kendryth says, "This Morvule seems to want the sword. I can only assume from what he has said that he wants to finish the work of the past, and their goals then were to desecrate the temple completely and do more harm."

Cryheart nods to Kendryth.

Cemb says, "I need two hands and my feet to count the number of times I've fought for lorminstra, why don't we just let her defend herself for once."

Kendryth says, "I do not question the will of the Gods, good sir. If the Lady wished to aid, I would gladly accept it. I do not hear her words on the wind, however, and I am not going to sit around waiting for a miracle."

Morgiest says, "Coloenl Guarrin of the Phoenix Protectors has one Question"

Kendryth nods.

Guarrin says, "Yes, agin, about dis Morvule...der be rumor tha he nae be mortal an' tha kinnae be harmed bah any means we may know of"

Guarrin asks, "Will de barrier ye spoke o' aroun' de sword preven' him from takin it as well?"

Kendryth says, "I would not be surprised. I cannot say, it may hamper or impede him, but a creature who can rip thousands of cursed souls from somewhere is a power to be trifled with."

Morgiest says, ""Lady kadesha has a question as an indepentdant force."

Kendryth nods.

Kadesha asks, "I have awareness, from the experiences of a Liabo friend's encounter, that Morvule is able to change his appearance as that of a common elf, or other race, and wonder if he can walk among us even further concealed?"

Kendryth says, "He can walk among you. I have seen such a power before. My Lord Prophet can sense him, however, when he is near."

Kendryth says, "He is blind in the spiritual sense."

Kendryth says, "My Lord Prophet is Ulstram, and he is the one who will cleanse the sword of its remaining taint."

Morgiest says, "Sir Cryheart has a questiond from the Silver Gryphons."

Kendryth nods.

Cryheart turns to face Kendryth.

Cryheart asks, "Sir, are you waiting to hear from us possible strategies...then aid us in our defense?"

Kendryth says, "That I am. I do not presume to know the lay of the land better than those who have lived all their lives upon it and trained within it."

Cryheart says, "sounds like we need to act soon to form a strategy"

Grandevr nods to Cryheart.

Cryheart asks, "would you agree that the sword and Temple is our first line of defense?"

Cryheart asks, "or do you hae another suggestion?"

Kendryth nods to Cryheart.

Cryheart nods to Kendryth.

Kendryth says, "It is. They will attempt to destroy those two things, and, failing that, destroy anything and anyone they might."

Cryheart says, "then, if I with respect to the others..that we form patrols around the perimeter....and establish a group around the sword as now...in more force to defend the sword...."

Cryheart says, "and post observers and defenders around any entrance to the Landing and Temple"

Guarrin nods to Cryheart.

Cryheart says, "and we shall also need to observe the Graveyard for any stirrings as well"

Morgiest says, "Lady Kadesha had a follow-up to her question."

Kendryth says, "I am mostly occupied with protecting my Lord Prophet. If he consents, I will lend my blade to any battle that might come."

Cryheart nods.

Thaleles says, "I wished to ask what remains in order to remove the taint."

Kendryth says, "Morvule would seem to be beyond any's capabilities. And what might be done is a matter of my Lord Prophet's and the clergy's discussion, which is still ongoing."

Kendryth says, "It will require much power, is all I am told."

Cemb says, "anything living can be destroyed Kendryth."

Kendryth says, "Would that it was so easy, good sir."

Morgiest peeks through a peephole in the door.

Morgiest rattles the handle of the door.

Kendryth says, "If there is a way, I would hope we might find it. For now, I focus my eyes upon the threat I can battle."

Cemb says, "what may seem hard for some is easy for others."

Kendryth says, "It would. The mana infused there will become incorporated into the framework already laid down by the priests."

Guarrin nods to Kendryth.

Morgiest says, "Lord Cryheart has a question from the Silver Gryphons."

Cryheart nods to Kendryth.

Cryheart asks, "if we encounter the dark forces....then we can protect the sword with blade.. and with the aid of the magics?"

Cryheart says, "in other words.. ward off the attackers"

Cryheart asks, "that is what we hope for, right?"

Cryheart says, "with all members of society helping"

Kendryth says, "I would hope we can, my Lord Prophet is not harmless in any sense. Should the temple come under siege, he will lend his power to the struggle."

Cryheart nods to Kendryth.

Morgiest says, "General Grandevr has a question from the Northern Fury."

Cryheart says, "then we need to aid in warding off the attacking forces"

Kendryth nods.

Cryheart nods to Kendryth.

Grandevr says, "Two things..."

Grandevr asks, "One, is it possible that Morvule's power comes from the undead Horde he commands? which assumingly would suggest that once the Horde is vanquished, he'll be vulnerable enough to be defeated soundly?"

Kendryth says, "I am known to assume the worst, that would be thinking the best of the situation, good sir."

Grandevr says, "Second, what is the role that the 'Dark Liege' play in all of this? I believe he was encountered in Potters' Field"

Kendryth says, "I have not heard of this. I know that in such dangerous wilds such as these, many manifestations of darkness might arise. Especially in a place like that."

Morgiest says, "I have a question from Daingneach Onoir."

Kendryth nods.

Morgiest says, "The Prophet Ulstram said, "There is taint amongst you, masquerading as friend", how do we uncover this person and should it be a priority?""

Kendryth says, "In times of war, many spies emerge. Many people may fear, and turn to the enemy. I would think it is up to you, in these matters, as these are your people."

Morgiest whispers, "The Sheer fear they had was a mistake according to the Gm runnin' it, and will not happen again."

Kendryth says, "This is why I have called you all tonight, I had to find dedicated protectors whose ranks were not infested with turncoats."

Kendryth says, "Many of your citizens have fallen victim to the lies and deception of the dark already. When I arrived, they told me of trouble in Solhaven."

Truekillr nods to Kendryth.

Monax says, "dat jes dem stupid sheru scum down in solhaven"

Morgiest says, "We have tried to warn them that it was a deception Sir kendryth, but many will nae listen."

Kendryth says, "This is a ruse. They seek to split our forces and draw attention to the south. They are overly loud."

Kendryth nods.

Truekillr says, "Excellent news. I am glad I chose not to go to their aid."

Kadesha says, "I suspected had they really had a secret down there theyd be all sneaky like as they usually are"

Kendryth says, "If that is all you might ask of me, I will go to my Lord Prophet's side once again."

Bristenn asks, "May we see get a glimpse of yer weapon?"

Kendryth chuckles.

Cryheart smiles at Bristenn.

Kendryth removes a lustrous golvern claidhmore veined with dark crimson from in his white-gold sheath.

Cryheart blinks.
Jonty's jaw drops.
Bristenn's jaw drops.
Sephron blinks.
Grogg drools.
Turinrond drools.
Grandevr chuckles.

Cryheart says, "impressive Sir"

Sherysse grins.

Skorrian whistles tunelessly to himself.

Thaleles smiles.

Bristenn turns to Kendryth and cheers!

Jonty nods to Kendryth.

Bristenn exclaims, "A mighty blade for a mighty hero!"

Typhus says, "A mighty blade indeed."

Kadesha smiles.

Thaleles says, "Goodnight."

Eahlstan turns towards Kendryth and renders a sharp salute with his Rising Phoenix Battle Standard.

Kadesha smiles at Kendryth.

Kendryth quietly strides out the door.

Bristenn removes a silver-edged white shield banner from in his mail backpack.

Bristenn holds his white shield banner high, displaying it for all to see.

Sherysse releases a slow, low whistle.
