Hhooru Willmagi's Enchanting Lessons
The art of enchanting requires some discipline, some understanding and A LOT of PATIENCE. You'll need to know about potions, how to pour the potion, and how to interpret the pourings.
Wizards can 'SENSE' mana. To find if an area is a mana pool that can be used for enchanting, just SENSE the area.
What follows are some examples of casting elemental detection at various items... and the different feelings you can expect to feel upon the cast.
Due to recent changes instantiated, SENSING for a wizard may not provide any reliable information.
Casting Elemental Detection (405) produces the following...
The patterns of essence about the sandals indicate it is being enchanted and is one of your projects. You sense the sandals has no enchantment. It is currently tempering and on the the final step of the enchanting process.
You will get the following feelings if the item is ready to be enchanted...

Careful examination indicates the decorated bone spear has a strength of 15 and a durability of 130. You determine the current state of the decorated bone spear to be at 100% integrity.

Careful examination indicates the katar has a strength of 70 and a durability of 175. You determine the current state of the katar to be at 100% integrity.

Casting ENCHANT (925) at an item that is held in your right hand...
As you concentrate on casting your magicks at it, faint sparkles surround and embed the katar, and join themselves to its very structure. Then the sparkles pulse brighter, in unison. A bright aura suddenly surrounds the katar and seems to consume it! After a moment the glow fades and the katar returns to normal. The enchantment was successful.
Yourge gestures at a mace.
As Yourge concentrates on casting his magicks at it, faint sparkles surround and embed the mace, and join themselves to its very structure. Then the sparkles pulse brighter, in unison. A bright aura suddenly surrounds the mace and seems to consume it! After a moment the glow fades and the mace returns to normal. Yourge looks pleased.

Yourge looks pleased.
Yourge grins.
Yourge says, "The day's just gettin better."
Hhooru grins.
Yourge says, "Think I've got two more to cast at too."
Yourge says, "Gotta pour this one again though."
Yourge removes a mirtokh potion from in his components bag.
Yourge pours his potion on the falchion. The liquid oozes over the surface of Yourge's falchion, creating a faint aura of steam. With a soft cloth, he works the liquid in well until you hear a faint crackling noise coming from it, and it appears faded.
Careful examination indicates the katar has a strength of 70 and a durability of 175. You determine the current state of the katar to be at 100% integrity.
You see nothing unusual, except for a small enchanter's mark.
You carefully examine the katar and determine that the weight is about 4 pounds.
NOTE: Some things don't appear right, sometimes... Where is the enchantment mark on the weapon below ?

If an item does not appear right, please use the BUG keyword within the game and report the item as a BUG to SIMUTRONICs.
ALSO, due to bugs being in place for about a year with the Elemental Detection, please report that as a BUG if you find it's not working still.
